JULY 6, 2011 – TRUTH CORRODED SIGN EUROPEAN / JAPAN DEAL WITH ULTIMHATE RECORDS

Posted in News, Truth Corroded with tags , , , , , , on July 6, 2011 by truthincrecords

Press Release: Australian thrash metal band TRUTH CORRODED have signed a European / Japan deal with ULTIMHATE RECORDS (www.ultimhate-records.com) for the release of the bands latest album ‘WORSHIP THE BLED’. The label will release the album on September 16th with the band following up the release with a European tour in early 2012.

Commenting on the deal TRUTH CORRODED bass guitarist Greg Shaw states : “The band is extremely pleased to be a part of the label. ULTIMHATE RECORDS have a great and diverse range of bands, and we feel our sound has found the perfect label to represent us in Europe and Japan. Furthermore, like our Australian label (TRUTH INC RECORDS) it is run by musicians who know the industry from going into battle for their own music. After years of hard work to get where we are it is great to be working with a label that has a shared experience and work ethic. The label has been very supportive and plans for touring in support of the album in Europe were put into place immediately. For us this is an aim we have long fought for, and we look foward to taking our music to Europe and building our profile further “

‘WORSHIP THE BLED’ features Kevin Talley (SIX FEET UNDER, MISERY INDEX, DAATH, CHIMAIRA) on drums and was mixed and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren of SCAR SYMMETRY at Black Lounge Studio in Avesta, Sweden. Artwork for the album was designed by Bjoern Gooses of KILLUSTRATIONS (ABORTED, DEW SCENTED)

TOURING THE BLED 2011 - AUSTRALIA

APRIL 23, 2011 – SINGAPORE (THEY WANTED MORE)

Posted in News, Tour Update, Truth Corroded with tags , , , , , on May 4, 2011 by truthincrecords

The final stop for this leg of Touring The Bled was Singapore, a place we haven’t played since 2007 so we were more than excited to play there again and see how the metal scene had changed, and it was also a chance to catch up with a lot of old friends (Bret – Morning Sound, The Bhelliom and Truth be Known guys).
Last time we played in Singapore the venue was inside The Old Parliament house in a room that was set up more for nightclubbing and speeches etc not a metal gig, and it was the same location this time, except we were actually playing in theHouse of Representatives where the venue was still set up for the next round of parliament debates – Weird but kind of cool at the same time. (Would have loved to set up the gear so we could have faced each other and have the crowd in the middle between the seats battling it out)

Today’s show was another 7 band bill dubbed ‘Grindhouse 2′ and featured some of Singapore’s more brutal acts ‘Truth be known, Cardiac Necropsy, Analdicktion, No Rest for the Weary, Assault & A Bitter Affection’. Due to our flight schedule we arrived at the venue about 6pm where the event had already kicked off to a very healthy crowd and its definitely weird to see such a classic looking building (looks like your local museum or Art gallery) littered with Metalheads drinking 1 litre bottles of Vodka, beers, Sri Lankan Rum (That stuff is nasty)and other assorted beverages.

We finally hit the stage at 10pm and the crowd loved it with circle pits, stage diving and lots of headbanging action from a crowd that was so so so different to the last time we played Singapore (a lot more conservative in 2007), was great to see the Singapore metalheads going sick and the scene there is definitely a healthy one. Although the sound quality both on and off stage was easily the worst of the tour we loved playing this show and we could have played all night but due to the show being behind time by about 30 – 40 minutes we were told to cut a few songs from the set (sucks), then during ‘Tear out the eyes of your god” we were asked to do one last song (this is where the show resembled the end of Monty Python & The Holy Grail minus the cops and knights). We were about to play the last song of the night ‘The Disfiguring’ when good friend and show promoter Brett told us from the back we couldn’t play anymore songs (due to the venues strict curfew) and the gig was over, the lights came on immediately and we were left on stage wondering what the hell was going on, the crowd wanted more so we tried to explain the situation but they weren’t having a part of it, so Bret (promoter) bravely got onstage explained the situation, we all apologized for the anticlimax and next time we will do a whole set and more to make up for the shortened show. After the show the crowd expressed their thanks for coming to Singapore and the show, taking photos with us and sharing a drink or two. Other than having to cut our set by 3 songs the gig was great and hats off to Bret for putting on a killer show, we will return Singapore that’s a promise.

SINGAPORE SET: Knives of the Betrayed, Pride of Demise, Decimate, Hunt All Heroes, Crown The Apocalypse, When God is Murder, We Are Failed, Tear Out The Eyes of Your God

Tonight being the final night of the tour we set out for one last night of partying where much food and drink was consumed in one of the many hawker food courts , not as crazy as previous after parties on the tour (there is only so much a human body can take) but we still managed to keep it going with jugs of bourbon until the wee hours of the morning. Our flights back home to Australia were the next day so it was a brief visit to Singapore but a very enjoyable one and we look forward to coming back soon. Australia we are back!!!

APRIL 20 – 22, 2011 – BANGKOK BRUTALNESS

Posted in News, Tour Update, Truth Corroded with tags , , , , on April 27, 2011 by truthincrecords

For those who know us, you know that we love Bangkok, I have been lucky to have been there 8 times now and Greg is on his 6th visit, we have so many great friends and fans there that every visit it just gets better and better. The show in Bangkok wasn’t until Friday night (grueling schedule we had – ha ha ha) so again we had 2 days to take in Bangkok, and we took in a lot I tell you. Partying in the streets, consuming way too many cocktails, margaritas, beers and shots of straight scotch (still taste that now) eating like Kings & chugging beers with our waiters and then topping it off with an amazing long tail boat ride through the canals and backwaters of Bangkok to experience the reality of Thailand. It was a great 2 days that went all too fast.

Tonights show was at Immortal Bar, we have been extremely lucky to know Fah (Thailands Max Cavalera & owner of Immortal Bar) for some years now and every visit to Immortal Bar he treats us amazing and force feeds us as much alcohol as possible (I think everyone I know has at least one blinder on the Thai Buckets at Immortal Bar – if you don’t know whats in a Thai bucket you just have to go there and find out), so it was great to finally play there and see our old friend again. Another reason that made this show killer is that we get to play with the mighty ‘In Vein’ (one of the best Asian metal bands around) which features another one of our great friends Pond (who organized this show for us).

Thai crowds are extremely crazy and tonight was no exception, the temperature inside the venue was as hot as the human torches Butt crack and the humidity even worse but we played a killer set and our longest yet, playing every track we had learnt for the tour and they still wanted more – I think Fah is still yelling “One More Song”. I cant express how much I love playing in Bangkok the crowds really make you feel welcome, go bullshit crazy and they just love the fact that you made the effort to play for them.

BANGKOK SET: Knives of the Betrayed, The Immolation Seen, Pride of Demise, Decimate, Buried Alive by Demons, Hunt All Heroes, When God is Murder, We Are Failed, Crown The Apocalypse, Tear Out The Eys of Your God, The Disfguring, The Great Waste of Flesh.

Before the show we knew had an early lobby call of 6am so we could make our flight to Singapore and had decided we wouldn’t have a big night after the show, but remember we are at Immortal Bar and when Fah comes up and whispers in your ear “I am going to kill you” you know you are in trouble. The buckets came out (lost count of how many) and so did the metal classics (Seps, Anthrax, Death Angel, Slayer etc). We drank and thrashed as long as we could and thank god someone had some sense to call time else we would all probably be still there. Massive horns to Pond, Fah, The Immortal Bar and all the crazy Thai metalheads you know we will be back, just try and stop us.

So armed with close to 2 hours sleep its off to airport for the final show of the tour – SINGAPORE!!!

April 17 – 19, 2011 – Tokyo Show #02 & Farewell Japan

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on April 24, 2011 by truthincrecords

Before the second show we had a bit of down time so we took in the sites and visited some of the amazing local attractions in Harajuku and Asacusa before making our way back to the venue. Upon our arrival the place was already packed out with a more aggressive young & drunk thrash / death metal crowd which suited us fine.

Tonights show featured some amazing Japanese bands Ogre (who had a zombie hacksaw murderer parading the stage eating a human head), Tyranny of Mary and Be All. Being the second show in Tokyo the ever so great Youthquake decided to play a set of covers playing tracks by Testament, Slayer, Carcass, Entombed & more & proving why they simply are the shit and the thought of having to play after them was a bit daunting. But once in a while the stars align and you get that one show that just explodes and tonight was that night for us. From the first note the crowd went crazy with an abundance of horn throwing, diving and jacket tossing and a circle pit that lasted for the entire show. We cant thank the crowd enough for their performance it really made the trip worthwhile and proved why we love playing in Japan.

Tonight’s after party was a special one as not was it the last show of the Japanese leg of the tour but it was also Akira’s (Youthquake Singer / Bassist) birthday and in Japan when it’s your birthday they have a custom where the guest of honour has his faced shoved into the cake, which Tristan (TC merch king) delivered in perfect style (video to come soon). The party lasted for many an hour and it was great to share drinks and some singalongs with our new Japanese Brothers – KAMPAI!!!!!

Tokyo – Show 02: Sunday Night
Knives of the Betrayed, Hunt All Heroes, Pride of Demise, Decimate, When God is Murder, We Are Failed, Tear out the Eyes of your God, The Disfiguring, Crown the Apocalypse

Due to our schedule we had 2 more days off in Japan before we had to fly to Bangkok, so we took the opportunity to go our separate ways and see as much of Tokyo and beyond as possible. We met up on the final night to have one last drinking session so it was off to an amazing all you can eat and drink Japanese BBQ where we became eating Godzillas consuming at least 5 cows and 6 chickens and a pig or two (sorry Chris but meat rules). After this we went back to Shinjuku and went to the best Metal club in the world ‘Rock Club’ at a maximum capacity of 6 people we filled the place up, drank them out of Jager and got very very loud, air guitaring, singing and thrashing with the cool bar girl and extremely drunk Japanese patron (video may be loaded soon). If you ever find yourself in Shinjuku make sure you go to Rock Club.

Before we went to Japan we had a lot of concerned family, friends and strangers telling us we were crazy to go to Japan at this time of year (due to the Tsunami, earthquakes & Nuclear disaster), but we are so glad we did, the people of Japan are amazing and the country is beautiful and sometimes you just gotta say fuck it and take the chance or else you will live your life achieving nothing. So to Rocco, Maru, Youthquake, all the bands, the fans, the friends, food, metal, beers and especially all the people of Japan – Arigato & Kampai we will be back soon.

April 15 & 16, 2011 – Tokyo Travel Day and Show #01

Posted in Uncategorized on April 22, 2011 by truthincrecords

Friday was a travel day for us, took the Shinkansen Bullet train to Tokyo and after a quick subway ride we were in Shinjuku and looking forward to catching up with good friend Maru (ex Argument Soul & one of the best lead players I have seen). Maru took us out for a killer Japanese meal where we tried some food we have never had before and some great Sashimi, didn’t go too hard on the drink as we wanted to be ready to go for the first Tokyo show but we did get our good buddy Maru a little bit beverage, but he soon recovered. Some of the boys retired early while some of us visited some local bars and soaked in the Tokyo nightlife.

We had 2 shows at the same venue “Wildside” over Saturday & Sunday night. Both shows were huge 7 band bills and had ourselves and Youthquake as headliners. Wildside is a cool little venue located in the basement level in the Shinjuku area (imagine playing in an air raid bunker with a bar, a stage and room for about 200 people) so the sound was crushing and the atmosphere was immense. The one problem that I have with Japanese venues is that pretty much everyone smokes cigarettes and with no ventilation it can definitely destroy your voice and stamina.

The first show saw us joined by Tokyo Yankees (Japanese Motorhead), Doormat (very much like Maximum the Hormone but less crazy) and some other high quality bands, unfortunately Skullfuck the all female death metal band from Sendai had to pull out due to the recent Earthquake Disaster (but sent across some presents to let us know they were all OK – thankfully). The crowd was definitely an older and more subdued one compared to the craziness of Osaka but they still gave it their all and enjoyed our short 30 minute set. Probably wasn’t our best performance (mainly as my voice was slowly being stripped down by the massive storm clouds of cigarette smoke billowing above our heads), but we still gave the crowd what they wanted – some crushing Australian metal, then Tokyo thrash legends Youthquake took to the stage and tore Tokyo a new one. I cant begin to tell you how good this band is. The after show party was a quiet one (for our standards anyway) as we had to be ready to bring it the next night (which we did!!!) as we had to play last after Youthquake and some of the best bands in Tokyo.

Tokyo – Show 01: Saturday Night

The Immolation Seen, Crown the Apocalypse, Pride of Demise, Decimate, Knives of the Betrayed, When God is Murder, Hunt All Heroes, The Disfiguring

April 14,2011 – Osaka

Posted in Uncategorized on April 19, 2011 by truthincrecords

Today was finally the day to play our first show in Japan for the tour. The venue was possibly the most metal / punk place ever as it is actually located in the subway station. You get off  the subway take a two flights of stairs and walk straight into the show – Killer. Have video of this to be uploaded asap.

The room was small but the crowd made up for it with some of the most violent pit action I have seen in a long time. Crazy circle pits & diving made for a great return to the Japanese stage. Also played with some amazing bands including Youthquake who we are dual headliners with for this tour. Youthquake have been around for 20 years in the Japan scene and are simply amazing – Think Testament meets At The Gates. (These guys deserve to be massive so be sure to check em out, and hopefully we can get them or their music over in Australia soon).

Yet again there was many a drink consumed at the after party and then the late night street wrestling got completely out of control. Kiler night was had by all. Cheers to everyone at the show. Osaka we will return.

Tokyo next

Osaka Set List: Knives of the Betrayed, The Immolation Seen, Pride of Demise, Decimate, Hunt all Heroes, Crown The Apocalypse, The Great Waste of Flesh, When God is Murder, Tear out the Eyes of your God, The Disfiguring
